I sent a thank you card to the anesthesiologist after the birth of my daughter. I had labored for hours without an epidural, thinking I might go till the end that way. But I was 18 and alone and exhausted. And the epidural was wonderful.

Thank you for sharing all this. I'm cheering for you. I've dealt with fibroids and bleeding. Thought I was done with menopause, but sadly no. I may be headed for hysterectomy before long and even at 56 it feels momentous. I'm really happy for you and wishing you physical recovery and the mental reshaping that comes from not having to worry about that thing you've been worrying about for so long. Sending hugs.
