The remarkable thing about this poem for me is its ring of authenticity. Your words move rhythmically and the cadence quickens as the orgasm approaches and the writing of a poem becomes a part of creating a new being. While the poet is alone in a room, the poet is not alone in a house. Mother is in the next room. Beautiful work.
It’s pretty unmistakable, the build and the shimmy, and skillfully done. Graceful phrasing with a light touch. Poetry done well is heaven on Earth. Dancing with Words... never ending is a long time. Poems last as long as people engage with them which is potentially never ending if we don’t screw it up with our seemingly never ending warring. I’m in a bad mood today. I’m going to play some Dylan songs.

Thanks for reading! I’m glad you were able to feel that rhythm. We are in a never ending dance with our words, aren’t we? 🙂

You’re too kind. 🙏🏾
Well, the writers and songwriters will decry war and inspire people to do the same. We can only hope.
Grumpy days call for Simon and Garfunkel. “Only Living Boy in New York” is one of my favorites. Hope you feel better.
Love this! I recently wrote a piece about how much I enjoy cooking in complete silence. Feel free to read it here: https://structuredrambles.substack.com/p/cooking-in-silence
Nice one! It’s truly centering to tap into that creativity.
