I’m reading this as January is about to turn into February. Outside it is grey and wet and the house is colder than usual. I was sad about that, and had a vague feeling of loss and wasted time. Reading this reminded me of the growth that is happening during the quiet months, the colder times, just like the grass that is waiting its time beneath the snow. Beautiful ideas, beautifully expressed.
You know, this really made me think differently about winter. I never considered the fact that while we obsess over grand life changes, the rest of earth is gray, dead, and chillin. You have inspired me to dial it back. :) wonderful introspection as always.

Thank you!
I can completely relate. It took me a while to turn things around. This winter has been very good so far.
Interesting!
The earth does not know it's a new year.... beautifully put. An almost poetic meditation.
Winter is a good time for grieving. May yours be full and fruitful.
Thank you! It’s a needed release.

Terrific read! There is value in winter’s introspective hibernation.
Thanks!

Glad to hear that! But in spring, we will be blooming so the grandness need only wait.
